About the Journal

The Journal of Oral Research is published annually. Our journal is dedicated to disseminating knowledge in oral sciences, including oral surgery, medicine and rehabilitation, craniofacial surgery, dentistry, orofacial pain and motor medicine, speech and swallowing, pathology, materials, public health, education, disorders, and other related disciplines. It publishes original research articles and brief communications, systematic reviews, study protocols, research hypotheses, case reports, commentaries, and perspectives.

The Journal of Oral Research is Open Access, meaning that the copyright holder of an academic work grants usage rights to others under an open license (Creative Commons in this case). This license allows immediate and free access to the work and permits any user to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data into software, or use them for any other lawful purpose.

The journal is indexed in Scopus, DOAJ, LILACS, Latindex (Directory and Catalog), Free Medical Journals, IMBIOMED, ​​BVS Regional Portal, SAGE Journals, DIALNET, JournalTOCs, REBIUN, REDIB, and Google Scholar. The Journal of Oral Research is a member of COPE and part of Revistas Académicas Chilenas (Chilean Academic Journals), and is the official publication of the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Concepción, Chile.

Authors grant the Journal of Oral Research the rights to publish and disseminate their selected and reviewed works in print, electronic, or any other format, as well as to include them in catalogs, libraries, servers, or websites. Authors retain full copyright and publication rights without restriction to their articles. The Journal of Oral Research is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License 4.0 International and must be properly cited.
